- What Are the Requirements for an Authorized Driver?š¤ Drivers must be 20+ with a valid license. Additional drivers require a fee and must be listed on the rental agreement. No learner's permits.
- What Is the Pre-Authorization Hold Policy (Security Deposit)?š³ A $300ā$500 hold is placed on your card at pick-up. This is not a charge, and the hold is released by your bank.
- What Is Globeās Fuel Policy? Do I have to fill up?ā½ Return the car with the same fuel level. If not, a refueling charge applies. Pre-purchase options are available at pick-up.
- What is Globe's Pet Policy? Can my Dog or Cat go in the Rental Car?š¾ No pets allowed in vehicles. We must keep cars fresh for clients who may be allergic. Cleaning fees apply if returned with pet hair.
- What Is Globeās Smoking Policy? Can I Smoke in the Rental Car?š Smoking is prohibited in all vehicles. A $250 cleaning fee applies if the vehicle is returned with a smoke odor.
- What Is Globeās Policy on Prohibited Uses of the Vehicle?š« Prohibited uses include racing, off-road driving, and unauthorized drivers. Violations void coverage and may lead to fines.
- What Is the Policy on Returning a Vehicle to a Different Location? Do You Offer One-Way Rentals?š One-way rentals are allowed but must be returned to a Globe location. Note: All Globe locations are in Montreal, no rentals to other cities.
- What Is the Kilometre Policy for Rentals? How Many Kilometres are Offered?š Rentals include limited free kilometres. Excess usage is charged per km. Unlimited options are capped at 4,000 km per contract.
- Can I Park My Personal Car in Your Parking Lot?š Parking personal cars overnight at Globe locations is not allowed due to security and space limitations.
- Can I Return the Vehicle After Hours?ā° After-hours returns are allowed, but youāre responsible for the car until the location reopens and inspects the vehicle.
- What Are Plating Fees on Car Rentals?š³ Plating fees cover the cost of vehicle registration.
- What Is Third Party Liability Insurance?š”ļø Third Party Liability Insurance covers damages to others. Itās included free but doesnāt protect the rental car itself.
- Can I Add Drivers to My Rental? Do I Need to Pay for Them?š„ Yes, add up to 2 drivers for a fee. All names must be on the contract. They must meet age/license requirements. Pro tip: CDW+PAP covers all!
- Do You Accept Driverās Licenses from the USA, France, or Other Countries?š Yes! Globe accepts legible, valid driverās licenses from the USA, France, and other countries. Must be in Roman/Latin characters.
- Can I Add Options (Unlimited Mileage, Coverage, etc.) After Picking Up My Rental?āØ Some options, like additional drivers or child seats, can be added after pick-up. Others, like coverage, cannot. See the full list here.
- I Have an Issue with a Globe EmployeeāWhat Should I Do?š¤ Had a problem with our staff? Share your concern factually and constructively. Complaints are investigated within 10 business days.
- What Are Tire Fees For and Why Are They Charged Year-Round?āļø Tire fees cover the cost of mandatory winter tires in Quebec and year-round maintenance of two sets of tires (summer and winter).
